As your child grows and develops, his or her needs will change. We offer children in our care every opportunity to explore their world. Each of their five senses will be challenged and their imagination stretched during their time with us. Children from 3-5 years are in their pre-school years and will be in key groups with other children at a similar age and stage of development.

The pre-school time from three to five years of age are very important for your child, they grow up and get ready for school. In common with every pre-school centre across the country, 2009/10 we are introducing the new Curriculum for Excellence (Click here for more information). This new Curriculum allows us to concentrate on providing opportunities for the children to become:

In addition to this, we also provide a huge range of play experiences that will lead to learning outcomes in areas such as:

We are all looking forward to the challenges and opportunities this new curriculum will bring and as our use and understanding of it develops we will keep you up to date with literature from the nursery and information sessions.

What will not change is that the programme of activities and experiences available to the children will continue to allow them to explore their world and to develop their skills in a friendly, loving and secure environment.

We are confident that our work to prepare your child for their first day at school, not just academically but emotionally and socially too will be much enhanced by this curriculum.
